Triangles and Circles: Dior Homme FW13. From trashyprinces.

The space is white. Immaculate. Rectilinear. In this futuristic world, Dior Homme wears its emblem proudly. We find it on sweaters and jackets, in black and white, gray and red. An enigmatic sign: a triangle circumscribed within a circle. The future is now.

What was the significance of the new insignia? "You’re supposed to ask," Van Assche said. "That’s the point."

[Being] a little off in the fit is not all bad. Each and every one of us has quirks, and is a little ‘funny’ anyway, one way or another. Nobody’s perfect, and those who think they are, or try to look that way, look like mannequins. Stiff. Clothes that look too engineered lack a sense of style, as do people who look too engineered. Look comfortable; be comfortable. Don’t sweat the small stuff. Life’s too important to worry about inconsequential details.

From inside the evil heart of SoHo on Broadway—amid the chaos of pashmina-pushers and fashion victims—just hang a left on Crosby Street. Not fifty yards from a man about to have an aneurysm trying to locate the Apple store, you will find the most concentrated new dose of quality menswear design in America. And because this street is more cobblestone alley than thoroughfare, these stores have stayed miraculously unsucky.

The shops include:
Carhartt Work in Progress
Hampton Chutney Co.
Carson Street Clothiers
All Saints
Saturdays NYC
Jil Sander
Opening Ceremony
